我在初中時代，突然喜歡英文民歌。那個時代，沒有電腦沒有方法拿到歌詞，我連屬於自己的收音錄音機也沒有，忘記了如何取得歌詞了。只知我是有辦法對著歌詞，明白箇中意思。尤其是這篇歌詞實在淺顯，每一句都聽懂確令人有難以言喻的滿足。
我還記得不只一次為這首歌詞掉眼淚，今天搜尋資料時才知悉原來這是一首悼亡的歌，主角是歌者的父親，而非一首失戀的情歌！
感人肺腑，總有特別的原因。「桃李無言，下自成蹊」，一切盡在不言之中。
